4 – Palazzo Asmundo

Palazzo Asmundo is a noble residence built in 1767 by the Marquis of Sessa Giuseppe Asmundo. The construction of the building began in 1615; the palace is located in the ancient street “Cassaro” (today’s Corso Vittorio Emanuele) in front of the Cathedral. The building preserves stuccoes and frescoes with allegories dating back to the 18th century. Various collections of historical interest are on display inside the palace: paintings, Sicilian ceramics, Neapolitan and French porcelain, as well as copious cartographic and numismatic documentation. Today it is used as a location for events and will host the social dinner of the 2023 SIC Symposium.
